Clark D21

CCMR has a large collection of electronic test equipment which is available to registered users, to borrow at a nominal hourly cost. The cost varies by equipment, in order to recover costs of maintenance, recalibration and upgrades. Rules for borrowing equipment and a full list of available instruments are below.

Clark D21 Test Equipment “Lending Library” Rules
1) Users must have a CCMR Coral account and read the Clark Hall Materials Facility orientation in full to gain facility access.
2) Any equipment removed from D21 storage racks must be enabled in Coral (see instructions at bottom)
3) Reserve equipment in reservation section or post expected finish date in ‘problem comment’ field. (see instructions at bottom)
4) Locating equipment: To locate any equipment not in D21, please contact the current user by noting the active netID next to the equipment name. There is no set time-limit for recalls, but 4 weeks from date of request will be a starting point.
5) Users are responsible for safe transport between buildings, (protecting from shock/moisture), and security (equipment is not be left unattended in unlocked areas).

Other Instructions

1) Enabling in Coral: 
any equipment removed from the library/shelves in D21 must be enabled AND reserved in Coral. To enable, highlight equipment and use Equipment Actions – Enable. This must be done every time equipment is taken, regardless of where/how it is to be used. Enabled equipment will show the user’s netID after the tool listing.

2) Returning Equipment: 
You may disable equipment in Coral (Equipment Actions – Disable) only when the instrument is returned to Clark D21 and shelved in the appropriate location.

3) Reserving Equipment: 
a. For short reservations, users may prefer to block off time in the Reservations tab.
b. For longer reservations, users may prefer to use the Equipment Actions – Report Problem function, and write the desired reservation period in the “problem” status note. The green arrow will change to an orange circle and is visible to all Coral users. Please note that this status can not be cleared by regular Coral users, so the facility staff should be notified when the item is returned.
If equipment is not working properly, please notify the facility staff immediately.
Equipment manuals are generally available on the Internet; contact the facility staff if you need a printed copy.
