As of September 2015, the SQUID is no longer active.  Magnetometry measurements can be performed using the VSM option on the 9 Tesla PPMS.

Utilizing Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) technology, the MPMS-XL sample magnetometer achieves magnetic measurement sensitivity (~1×10-8 emu), dynamic range, and reproducibility in key areas such as high-temperature superconductivity, biochemistry, and magnetic recording media. All measurements other than those requiring sensitivity approaching the SQUID limit can be done using the VSM option in the PPMS.

Maximum Sample Size: 9 mm Field Uniformity: 0.01% over 4 cm Temperature Range: 1.9-400 K Maximum Field: 7 Tesla
