Fun Stuff

More Than Just a Research Opportunity

There is more to life than materials research! On weekends and in the evenings, there are a variety of activities available, including two excursions:

Niagara Falls

Our program offers an optional day trip to Niagara Falls, New York, where you can experience one of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world. Much excitement awaits you there: take a ride on the Maid of the Mist, tour the Cave of the Winds, or visit the Discovery Center. You may also venture over to the Canadian side, where additional attractions are offered, such as Clifton Hill, the Skylon Tower, and Queen Victoria Park. (If visiting the Canadian side, you must have appropriate government-issued ID with you; e.g., your passport.)

New York City

Summer interns can also take a day trip to the Big Apple: New York City. While there, you can visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the American Museum of Natural History, take in a Broadway play, or see the stunning views from the Empire State Building Observatory. NYC has something for everyone.
